Verona - 20 minutes away
Verona is just 12 km from the agriturismo: less than 20 minutes by car along the scenic Valpolicella road. One of Italy's most beautiful cities, with its UNESCO World Heritage historic centre, the Verona Arena, Juliet's house and the central markets. Perfect for a one- or two-hour trip, or for an evening at the Opera.

Lake Garda - 35 minutes away
Lake Garda is reachable in about 35 minutes by car: on the Veronese shore you will find historic villages such as Bardolino, Lazise and Peschiera del Garda, each with its beaches, lakeside promenades and fish restaurants. An ideal stop for a different day during your stay.

Lessinia
Just 10 km from the agriturismo, heading north along the Negrar hills, the landscape changes: vineyards give way to beech and oak forests, the paths grow quiet and the villages are built with local black stone. Lessinia is the regional nature park that opens up behind the Valpolicella - a different kind of nature, cool even on the hottest summer days, ideal for hiking, cycling and walks through ancient forgotten villages.

Where to taste Amarone near Verona?
The best Amarone della Valpolicella tastings are found in the local wineries, 5-15 km from Agriturismo Igino. Among the most important and visitable: Allegrini in Fumane, Masi in Gargagnago, Bertani in Grezzana, Tedeschi in Pedemonte and many artisan wineries in Negrar, open by appointment all year round. Most require booking, especially at weekends and in high season (May-October). From the agriturismo they can be reached in 5-15 minutes by car, or on foot or by bike along the country roads between the vines. How far is Verona from the agriturismo?
Agriturismo Igino is 12 km from the historic centre of Verona, reachable in about 20 minutes by car along the scenic Valpolicella road. The route is simple: take the SP4 towards Verona and you arrive directly in the city. For parking we recommend Park Arsenale, 5 minutes' walk from Piazza Brà and the Verona Arena. From Igino you can easily reach Juliet's House, the Arena, Piazza Erbe, the historic market, Castelvecchio and Ponte Pietra - all within walking distance. In summer, the Arena hosts Italy's most important opera festival: we are just 20 minutes' drive back, in the silence of the vineyards.
Can you visit Lake Garda from the Valpolicella?
Yes, Lake Garda is one of the most popular day trips for guests of Agriturismo Igino. The Veronese shore of the lake is 28 km from the agriturismo, reachable in about 35 minutes by car along the SS249 Gardesana Orientale. The most beautiful villages in the area are: Bardolino, famous for its DOC wine and lakeside promenade; Lazise, a fully walled medieval village; and Peschiera del Garda, a UNESCO Venetian fortress. In summer the lake is very busy: we recommend leaving early in the morning to enjoy the calm waters before the afternoon tourist crowds. Gardaland and the main water parks of Veneto are also in the area.

Aquardens is in Pescantina (VR), about 15 km from Agriturismo Igino (20 minutes by car). It is Italy's largest thermal park: over 5,200 m² of pools fed by salt-bromine-iodine waters emerging at 47°C from 130 metres depth. The facility includes indoor and outdoor pools, caves, waterfalls, slides, lagoons and a 1,500 m² wellness centre with beauty cabins and SPA. Are there hiking trails in the Valpolicella?
Yes, the Valpolicella is crossed by a network of well-marked hiking trails, suitable for all levels. The most beautiful routes near Agriturismo Igino are: the Ciliegi di Fumane ring (~8 km, easy, panoramic), the Via dei Marmi from Negrar to Sant'Ambrogio (a historic route through quarries and ancient villages), the Marano Vineyard path (~6 km, between vines and views over the classic hills) and the link to Prun, a small black stone village.
